Campus
Salesianum is located at 1801 North Broom Street directly across from Wilmington's Brandywine Park. Only a few blocks from where I-95 crosses Route 202, Salesianum is convenient to students from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.
The twenty-two acre campus accommodates 443 vehicles in a security patrolled environment and also provides six tennis courts, two baseball diamonds, two soccer fields, a football practice field, a lacrosse field, and facilities for field events including high jump, long jump, pole vault and shot put. All of this is part of the Eugene A. DelleDonne, '32 Memorial Park which is used for athletic competition as well as the physical education program. The varsity athletic program is enhanced by Wilmington's Baynard Stadium which is located across from Salesianum on 18th Street. This stadium serves as the home field for numerous athletic competitions.
The
Salesianum campus will be renovated even further in the coming months
and years. Ambitious capital efforts over the last 7 years have significantly
enhanced our "House of Sales." During this time, we renovated
our gymnasium (1999-2000), upgraded the athletic fields (2001), added
parking (2001), renovated the faculty residence (2001), established a
technology corridor (2002), constructed the Rocco A. Abessinio '59 Science
Center (2002), created a new Guidance and Career Center (2002), established
a new fine arts center (2003), built a conference center and memorial
chapel (2003), installed new windows (2004), wired the campus to include
a wireless network and provided all faculty with laptops (2006) and renovated
the dining center (2007). These accomplishments enable us to enter our
second century from a position of confidence, strength and competitiveness.
Students come to Salesianum by school bus, public transportation, car pool, van pool and individual cars. Bus service is available from most parts of New Castle County, Smyrna, Dover, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.
An elevator makes all floors of the school accessible to students with disabilities as well as family members who need such access. |
