Salesianum Model U.N. Team Opens '05-06 Competitions With 11 Gavels

Salesianum School captured 11 first-place gavels as the Catholic High Schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Diocese of Wilmington celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Model U.N. on Saturday, Oct. 23.

Seniors Pat Burke, Ray Ciabattoni, Bob McGurk, Tim Mercure, Rich Remedio, Bill Rivers, Tom Schrandt and Carl Shimel, sophomores Marco Alberti and Vinnie Jacono and freshman Brian Frame were each awarded first-place gavels.

The program, held at West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, welcomed area students as well as groups from Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Va.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to Live Jesus, guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
