Salesianum Senior Michael Augsberger A Delaware Finalist For 2005 Wendy's High School Heisman

Salesianum senior Michael Augsberger has been named a state finalist in the 2005 Wendy's High School Heisman Program. Of the nearly 15,000 students nominated nationally, only 10 males and 10 females per state are chosen as state finalists.

Michael has excelled as an infielder on the baseball team, earning varsity letters the past two seasons. But he has also starred in the classroom, ranking 7th in his class of 269 and scoring a 1430 on his SAT in the spring. Michael has also served his parish, Assumption BVM in West Grove, in roles as a lector, pianist and CYO coach.

A dinner and awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to honor the state finalists and state winners from Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Created in 1994 through a partnership between Wendy's and the Heisman Memorial Trophy, the Wendy's High School Heisman program has rewarded youth excellence for 12 years.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to Live Jesus, guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
