Salesianum Seeds Of Service Day: April 10, 2006Day provides Salesianum sophomores with service requirementWilmington, Del. (April 5, 2006) - Salesianum School sophomores will participate in the second Seeds of Service Day on Monday, April 10 2006. The Seeds of Service Day provides an introduction to Salesianum's four-year service program. Each sophomore will fulfill his first-year service requirement by participating in this day of service and by writing a reflection paper that integrates Salesian themes with his experience. The day will conclude with a mass at Salesianum School. The theme of the mass will be "Let us go in peace to love and serve the Lord and one another." The purposes of this day are:
Each student and parent will receive a reflection and journaling booklet, a T-shirt to identify our students and bus transportation to and from the 14 service agencies. Salesianum has designed this day to help these worthy causes and give our Salesians a first-hand experience what it really means to "Live Jesus." Tom Vresics, Salesianum's Religious Studies Department Chair, is the coordinator of the Seeds of Service Program. Students will arrive at their designated service area at 9 a.m. and return to Salesianum at 1 p.m. The program takes place at the following locations:
Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to "Live Jesus", guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
