Salesianum Dominates Academic Debate CompetitionWilmington, Del. (April 5, 2006) - Salesianum School sophomores will participate in the second Seeds of Service Day on Monday, April 10 2006.On Saturday, March 18, 2006, the World Affairs Program of Methacton High School, Norristown, PA., hosted the 16th Annual East Coast Conference on Model International Organizations. The day long convention involved three hundred students from twenty schools. The students simulated the following organizations: NATO, OAS (Organization of American States), APEC (Asian and Pacific Economic Conference), UN Security Council, LAS (Arab League), ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), and the African Union. In the individual debates, Salesianum led all schools by winning a record nine first place gavels: The winners were: Tom Samper, Dan Ciabattoni, Pat Burke, Bill Cammarota, Joe Rendemonti, Pat Manieri, Carl Shimel, Brad Mihalik, Mike McCarthy, Jeff Dandoy, Ryan Fremuth, Vince Jacono, Ray Ciabattoni, Evan Heisman, Bill Rivers, Tom Schrandt, Eric Austin. Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to "Live Jesus", guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
