Salesianum Model U.N. Team Captures Four First-Place Academic Awards

Salesianum opened up its Model U.N. academic year at West Catholic High School in Philadelphia on Oct. 7. Three-hundred students from area schools, as well as students from Washington, DC and Northern Virginia, participated in the simulation of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.

The topic of discussion was the future of North Korea and its nuclear testing. In the individual academic competition, Salesianum captured four first-place gavels in the regional competition.

Awarded gavels were juniors Marco Alberti, David Beaver, Jeff Dandoy, Cal Greene, Vince Jacono, Jason Patterson, Eric Peoples and sophomore Mike McCarthy.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to "Live Jesus", guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
