Salesianum Senior Local Nominee For 2007 Prudential Spirit Of Community Award

Salesianum School senior Gregory McCauley (Chadds Ford, Pa.) has been selected as Salesianum's local nominee for the 2007 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

In August, Greg accompanied Boy Scout Troop No. 652, a special-needs group, on a camping trip to Rustica Falls. During the trip, Greg was responsible for helping the nine special needs boys in almost every way possible, including help feeding, dressing, and day-to-day activities of the scouts. In total, Greg volunteered more than 175 hours of his time with Boy Scout Troop No. 652.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards were created in 1995 to recognize students in middle and high school grades who have demonstrated exemplary community service. These prestigious awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), are presented annually on the local, state and national level.

Salesianum School is a Roman Catholic independent secondary school that teaches young men to "Live Jesus", guided by the spirituality of Saint Francis de Sales, through a college preparatory education, enabling them to take their place in the world as Salesian gentlemen.
