Salesianum School Counted as one of the Country’s 50 Best Catholic High Schools

Catholic High School Honor Roll bestows honor to Wilmington school for the second time.

Salesianum School has been named one of the country’s 50 best Catholic Schools by the Catholic High School Honor Roll. This is the second time the school has received this prestigious honor, the first was in 2004.

“The entire school community is extremely proud of this honor, as it affirms our century old mission of educating Salesian Gentleman,” said Fr. William McCandless, O.S.F.S, the school’s principal. “The rigorous evaluation process enabled us to clearly demonstrate who we are at Salesianum School to the extent that the Catholic High School Honor Roll Advisory Board deemed us worthy of a place on their prestigious list of the top 50 Catholic High Schools.”

The primary goal of the Honor Roll is to encourage schools to educate their students as effectively as possible, in a way that integrates Catholic faith and prepares students for active engagement in the world. Schools are evaluated on their levels of quality in academics, Catholic identity, and civic education.

“Receiving this honor for the second time in two years is a true testament to the success of our faculty and staff, and their dedication to our students,” says Fr. James E. Dalton, O.S.F.S., the school’s president. “We also share this honor with the nearly 15,000 graduates who have supported and lived our mission over the last 100 years.”
