Three Students Honored for Writing Prowess

Salesianum junior Stephan Murphy won the Common Wealth Awards Writing Contest. Stephan was 1 of only 3 Delaware High School winners. He will attend the Common Wealth Awards banquet on Saturday, April 28 that will honor world-renowned figures such as Sidney Poitier, Aleksander Kwasniewski, Cokie Roberts, and Ian McEwan for distinguished service. Stephan will enjoy the honor of interviewing ABC and NPR journalist Cokie Roberts.

Salesianum seniors Anthony Arena and Benjamin Linskey and junior Stephan Murphy were honored recently in the 2007 First State High School Communications Contest, co-sponsored by Delaware Press Association and The News Journal. Anthony placed first for his music analysis in the "review" category. Ben placed second for his band analysis in the "review" category. Stephan placed third for article concerning Salesianum's fall triple crown in the "sports" category.
