Guidance
Salesianum provides a full range of guidance services designed to meet the individual needs of our students. As with all we do at Salesianum, the purpose of our guidance effort is to assist the student in maximizing his potential and achieving all that his unique individual capabilities permit.
A full time guidance counselor for each student is in place to meet the students' need for personal, academic, career, financial aid, and college placement counseling. Additionally, there is a full-time educational support services director who works with students who have documented learning differences. These counselors use a variety of approaches, including individual and group meetings with students and parents, peer and professional counseling, printed information, electronic data resources and individualized coaching sessions.
The focus of all of these efforts is to assist the student and his family in their quest for quality education both in high school and beyond. Guidance and placement activities are second in importance only to academics and character formation during these critical years. The results speak for themselves. Last year, 99% of graduating seniors entered college. They do so with scholarships, grants and financial aid totaling in the million of dollars. More than two thirds of the Class of 2007 shared in grants and scholarships totaling more than $14,000,000. Sound academic preparation, quality guidance and an aggressive college placement program combine to make Salesianum a truly outstanding educational value.
