Service Activities

Key Club: Moderator: Mrs. Looney - Students receive activities credit for serving as runners for the office and hosts for school visitors.

Minority Coalition: Moderator: Ms. Brown and Ms. McMillan - This club is open to all minority students to provide a forum for discussion and interaction with other private/independent schools concerning the issues that confront minorities.

Minutemen: Moderator: Mr. Gallagher - The primary function of the Minutemen is to provide service to the school in two areas: to facilitate traffic during change of classes, and to serve as hall assistants during their unscheduled time. A direct recommendation from the Dean of Students and Faculty invites eligible Junior and Senior students to join this service group.

SADD/YELL: Moderator: Mrs. Eastlack - Students Against Destructive Decisions and Youth to Eliminate Loss of Life is a group of students who provide information and programs for their fellow students in an attempt to combat alcohol abuse and destructive behavior within the school community.

SALS-Salesians Assisting Local Students: Moderator: Fr. Ciriaco, OSFS – SALS is a program in which Salesianum students (of any classes) share their time and talent with local children in a public school. Once a week after school SALS go to Warner Elementary to tutor students in English and Math.

Campus Ministry - Visit our Homepage
Salesianum's commitment to worship, service, community, and faith is evident throughout the school's programs and activities.  Salesianum is rooted in the spirituality of the gentleman saint, Francis de Sales. The core of a “Salesian” education is rooted in prayer and faith formation. The Office of Campus Ministry is entrusted to provide opportunities for spiritual development for all students.

As Salesianum means “House of Sales” Campus Ministry emphasizes the spirituality and focus of Francis de Sales. Francis de Sales is particularly meaningful to students: his practical philosophy is attainable for all. All can “Live today well” and “Do ordinary things extraordinarily well,” as Saint Francis de Sales has commissioned us to do.

Each year the Salesianum community focuses on a specific thought from Francis de Sales. This year’s thought calls attention to the importance of true faith in our spiritual journey:
Let God lead us to perfection, one step at a time.

Seeds of Service Program
Welcome to Chrisitian Service as Salesianum. This is an exciting and dynamic program that will aid you in your journey as a Salesian gentleman. The Christian Service Program is a mandatory requirement that is met by accomplishing service at a service organization of your choice that meets the parameters as stipulated by the program.

The grade for this program is independent of your class work. In order to proceed to the following grade level, your service requirement must be fulfilled. For each year, you have a service requirement to meet. Freshman year it is 10 hours; sophomores it is 20 hours (five of which will come from your retreat day); 20 hours in your junior year and 10 hours in your Senior year. All service requires a reflection paper.
