Income for Life – Your guide to opening a charitable gift annuity with Salesianum School

What is a charitable gift?
A charitable gift annuity is an agreement between you and Salesianum School, which enables you to make a donation to support Salesianum, in return for fixed life income payments and a considerable tax deduction. Backed by the assets of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, Salesianum’s annuity rates are based upon your age at the time of the annuity. Thus the older you are, the higher the rate of return. All rates are fixed, with annuity payments guaranteed for life. Payments may be set up monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Upon your death, Salesianum or Salesianum/Oblates assumes the remainder of the annuity and uses it to address pressing needs.

How it works
1. You open a charitable gift annuity, funding it with stock, cash or other property.
2. You receive an income tax deduction (a percentage of your gift).
3. You also receive lifetime annuity payouts from Salesianum; a percentage of each payment is considered tax-free income.
4. At your death, Salesianum or Salesianum/Oblates assumes the principal and uses the money to address pressing needs.
