Senior Miller Recognized with Del. H.S. Heisman
Salesianum senior Dylan Miller has been honored as the state winner for Delaware in the 2011 Wendy’s High School Heisman Award program. This program, which presented its national winners in December, celebrates the nation’s top high school seniors who best exemplify a well-rounded “citizen-scholar-athlete.”
During his time at Salesianum, Dylan has volunteered as a tutor at his school, helped feed the hungry at Emmanuel Dining Hall, and contributing in raising funds to fight juvenile diabetes at the Schuylkill County Diabetes Organization.
As a member of the Class of 2012, Dylan ranks fourth in his class of 260, and has been a member of the National Honor Society since his junior year. Dylan has also served as a Minuteman, an Executive House Captain (Salesianum’s student government), and on the Salesian Spirituality Commission. He is also the president of the Student Athletic Training Club.
Dylan has been a three-year varsity basketball player for head coach Mike Gallagher. He earned accolades during his junior season by being named to the first team All-Catholic Conference team. He was also selected as the team’s Most Outstanding player in 2010-11.
Salesianum begins postseason play tonight against Campus Community School at the Rev. John Birkenheuer, OSFS, Gymnasium.
