College Admissions
Self Advocacy
The special needs student's ability to
seek out appropriate assistance and
academic accommodations is the best
indicator of success at the college level.
Services for Students with Disabilities
The student will meet with the Director of Educational Support Services
to discuss the
level of support services he will need at
the college level.
Colleges with programs for students with Disabilities.
The Director of Educational Support Services
and the Guidance Department have a
variety of resources available to assist
the student in finding colleges and
universities that have special needs
programs.
Documentation
Colleges and universities require that
psycho-educational evaluations be recent
(usually within three years). Schools
have specific criteria for documentation.
Please seek information from the special
needs coordinator of the college or university
that you wish to attend regarding the schools
requirements. For general information and
assistance, contact the Director of Educational Support ervices.
