Freshman Orientation

The Class of 2023 will be on campus on Thursday, August 22 for their Orientation. The day is packed with activities that are informative and fun. Freshmen will meet new classmates, walk through their first day schedule, find their assigned lockers (and learn how to use them), and discover the many activities that Salesianum offers. They will also hear from upperclassmen about brotherhood and what it means to be a Salesian Gentleman, and of course, find out which "HOUSE" they will be part of during their careers at Salesianum.

Where and When:
Freshmen may report to the main entrance of the building using the side parking lot or dropped off in front of school beginning at 8:15 AM, all students should be at school no later than 9:00 AM. Breakfast will be served until 8:45 AM.

What to Wear:
Students should wear a t-shirt, athletic shorts, and athletic shoes (please do not wear dress pants, jeans, or dress shoes). A house t-shirt will be given to your son to wear in the morning. Part of the day involves activities in the gym and at other locations on campus, so no sandals or flip-flops, please.

What to Bring:
Students may also bring a reusable water bottle to use throughout the day (please write your son's name on the bottle). iPads should be left at home.

Food:
All students will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner at no charge.

Medical:
Medication should be dropped off in the Nurse's Office upon arrival. Medication must be in the original prescription packaging with your son's name on it.  If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne Mansi at smansi@salesianum.org.

Parents:
Parents of freshmen are invited to return to Salesianum at 5:30 PM for their own orientation, starting with a social in the Dining Center with hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer, and an opportunity to meet other parents.

Salesianum 101: A Guide for Parents follows at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium, designed as an enjoyable and informative introduction to life as a Salesianum parent (even for those with older students at Sallies). After the presentation and Q&A, parents rejoin their sons in the Gymnasium for a brief presentation and concluding ceremony in the Gym, concluding by 8:30 PM.

The school store will be open from 5:00 - 9:00 PM.

Dress for parents is casual. Come out and meet the other parents and school leaders who will be sharing the next four years with you!
