The Salesianum football program was founded in 1921 under the direction of Mr. Arthur “Brick” Malloy and has continued to the present, with a five-year interruption from 1939 to 1944 due to World War II.
Over the years, the Salesianum football team has competed against over 130 teams from six states and the Washington, D.C. area. The team has won seven state championships and has come in second place four times has had 77 winning seasons in 91 years. Salesianum football has had 161 First Team All State players and 290 players participate in the Blue-Gold All Star games.
Head Coach Bill DiNardo has led the team since 2004, and is assisted by Rob McConaghy, Paul Salvo, Anthony Spadaccini and Dave Willard (Varsity Assistants), Thomas McBride (JV Head Coach), Sean Tischler, David Buchler, Michael Pietlocl (JV Assistant Coaches), Michael Manley Sr. (Freshman Head Coach), Todd Crkvenac, William Stradley (Freshman Assistants).
