Welcome! Whether your son is seeking a high-level arts intensive curriculum, or simply desires to broaden his exposure to the expressive arts, Salesianum is the right destination for him. From string orchestra, wind ensemble, marching and jazz bands, and fully realized gallery art shows, to a theater program through partnerships with sister schools that offers as many as 16 productions annually, Salesianum's arts programming is like no other high school in the region.
Salesianum students receive dynamic instruction in the fundamentals of music history, theory, technology and the mechanics of creating and performing music. Our curriculum embraces a variety of approaches to developing a lifelong appreciation for, and the ability to communicate with, music. From traditional lectures, guest performers and improv sessions to discussing musical genres and trends, students will gain a well-rounded foundation in the musical arts.
Salesianum offers a variety of music groups for students to participate in, including 2 Concert Bands, an award-winning Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, String Ensemble, Music Ministry, and Choir. Each of these groups brings its own unique addition to Salesianum’s culture and school spirit. In addition to performing for the school community and local charities, Salesianum's music groups participate in special trips and competitions throughout the year.
Salesianum students are regularly selected for Delaware All-State Ensembles. Many of our students have received university music scholarships, and several of our recent graduates have been accepted to nationally acclaimed conservatories as music majors.
