Senior Ben Demosthene Receives the Albert Engineering Leadership Scholarship for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Congratulations to senior Benjamin Demosthene, one of two incoming freshmen who received the prestigious Albert Engineering Leadership Scholarship at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

The Albert Engineering Leadership Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program in the Honors College designed to develop future engineering leaders through a gift from Craig and Darla Albert. The program recruits top engineering students and emphasizes applied learning, campus involvement, and professional development. Craig Albert is a 1985 graduate of Mechanical Engineering at UNC Charlotte. He is currently the president and chief operating officer of Bechtel Group, Inc. His wife Darla is a 1983 alumna of UNC Charlotte’s Belk College of Business.
 
The scholarship covers tuition and fees, room and board, a laptop computer, summer experiences, participation in The William States Lee College of Engineering Leadership Academy, study abroad opportunities, and a professional development stipend. Albert Scholars are members of the University Honors Program in the Honors College and, as merit scholars, receive specialized programming and advising in the Honors College.
