Finn Green '23 and Chase Flanagan '23 Are the Recipients of the River Boys Award for Intrepid Salesians Scholarship!

Congratulations to Finn Green '23 and Chase Flanagan '23, who are the recipients of the River Boys Award for Intrepid Salesians Scholarship!

The River Boys Award for Intrepid Salesians Scholarship started in 2021 in honor of three Salesianum Alumni. Salesianum classmates Samuel Castorani, Dennis Gallagher, and Charles Robinson embarked on an implausible journey in the summer of 1957 that took them across the United States by boat, rail, and foot.

To honor the place and spirit that brought them together, the “River Boys” as they are known, established this scholarship. The award is given to a student(s) who exhibits zeal, ambition, courage, and moxie in undertaking an adventure, activity, and/or challenge. The students' proposal detailed how they believe their adventure, activity, and/or challenge will expand their own understanding of the world, lead to greater personal growth, and set an example for fellow students. The award is worth up to $5,000.
