Bill Rivers '06 Gains Traction is His Highly Acclaimed First Novel, Last Summer Boys

Congratulations to alum Bill Rivers '06 on his debut novel, Last Summer Boys. The book chronicles the tumultuous summer of 1968, when 13-year-old Jack Elliot works to save his brother from the draft. Readers will find the characters delightful, but Salesians in particular will recognize the bonds of brotherhood that make the story sing. Purchase his book here.
 
Bill Rivers, a Truman Scholar with an MPA from the University of Pennsylvania, had a distinguished career in the US Senate before becoming the speechwriter to Secretary of Defense, James Mattis. Subsequent to having a career in public service, Bill joined the senior communications team at BP, where he is currently a senior writer.
