SALSTHON Raises $243,791 For Ronald McDonald House of Delaware

Student Councils from Salesianum School, Padua, and Ursuline Academies raised a remarkable $243,791.55 for The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, exceeding the previously announced fundraising goal of $175,000 by more than $60,000. SALSTHON stands for Students About Life Saving and has grown into a powerful fundraising partnership and tradition between the three schools. The collaboration is entirely student-led, and over the past eleven years, has raised $1,640,000 for local non-profit organizations, including The Delaware Center for Homeless Veterans, Child Inc., B+ Foundation, SL24 Unlocke the Light: Sean’s House, St. Patrick’s Center, Limen House, Nemours Children’s Hospital, and The Summer Collab.

Students joined forces to raise funds through various outlets, including direct donation solicitations, sponsoring “dress down” days, social events, and athletic tournaments. Their efforts culminated at the spirited SALSTHON overnight dance held at Salesianum this weekend, during which the official reveal of the total dollars raised occurs. This celebratory moment has become an iconic image for the SALSTHON mission.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware serves families with seriously ill children by enabling access to medical care and providing a place that offers comfort, hope, and togetherness. In addition to providing a place to stay, the House offers nurturing and supportive environments where families can be together and find comfort. Each family that checks into the House has a private guest room and access to laundry facilities, a fitness center, four playrooms, multiple kitchens, a movie theater, and an outdoor playground and is served a hot meal every evening.
