Salesianum Students Excel in PSAT, One Named Semifinalist and Eight Commended Students

Last year, over 1.3 million juniors in 21,000 high schools across the country took the PSAT in October 2022. Based on the scores, approximately 16,000 semifinalists, less than 1%, qualified as semifinalists for the prestigious National Merit Scholarship. Salesianum, known for its commitment to academic excellence, proudly announces our students recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Program

Senior Eric Yoon has been named a Semifinalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. This distinction is a testament to Eric's dedication to academic achievement, placing him among the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. Finalists will have the chance to compete for about 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million.

Eight additional seniors earned a special commendation for their outstanding achievement based on PSAT performance. Their scores placed them in the top 50,000 students nationally. Mauro Colonna, Aaron Darch, Matthew Funchion, Ben Garrett, Nicholas Martin, Andrew Scott, Gabriel Teather, and Ryan Toy were recognized as Commended Students.
