Francis Trzuskowski ‘55 Speaks to Seniors During Salesian Pilgrimage

Jimmy Conley '22
On the morning of May 15, the Class of 2025 embarked on their annual Salesian Pilgrimage. This tradition has seniors walk from the school’s current location on North Broom Street to the original building's site, located on the corner of 8th and West Streets. The experience concludes with a brief mass just down the road at the Cathedral of St. Peter, where an alum who attended Salesianum at the 8th and West campus always reflects on his high school experience and provides graduation and life advice to his brothers. This year, our alumni speaker Francis Trzuskowski ‘55 was introduced by his grandson and senior Steele Songle. Francis congratulated the senior class and spoke about what the Salesianum brotherhood meant to him, as well as the pride he still has for his alma mater.

Following his graduation from Salesianum, Francis attended La Salle College where he was Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian of his class. Three years later, he received his J.D. from Georgetown Law and became an attorney. In Salesianum fashion, Mr. Trzuskowski became one of the founding partners of Trzuskowski and Kipp, P.A., along with his former classmate, James F. Kipp ‘55. Francis’s professional accomplishment was notable, making him one of the original public defenders in the state of Delaware. During his career, Mr. Trzuskowski served as counsel to St. Edmond’s Academy, Ursuline Academy, and his alma mater, Salesianum School. Additionally, he was the chairman of the Ursuline Board of Trustees and has served as a board member for various other organizations, including the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, Bayard House, the Chesapeake Bay Girls Scout Council, the Delaware Association of the Blind, the Americans of Polish Descent Cultural Society, and the St. Thomas More Society.

Salesianum thanks Mr. Trzuskowski for taking the time to speak with his fellow Salesian brothers, including his grandson, Steele Songle ‘25. Francis has had a relentless commitment to Salesianum for nearly 70 years, both in his professional career and throughout his life. Like a true Salesian, he is someone who has taken hold and never let go.
