Aidan Leary ‘26 Named Civil Air Patrol Cadet of the Year for Delaware and Mid-Atlantic Region

Aidan Leary '26 has been recognized with one of the highest honors in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), earning the title of Cadet of the Year for both the Delaware Wing and the Mid-Atlantic Region. This dual recognition reflects Aidan’s exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to the core values of the CAP program. Adding a special Salesianum connection, Col. Robert Hotchkiss '80, CAP—former Commander of the Delaware Wing and President/CEO of Southern Chester County EMS—presented Aidan with the award.

Additionally, Aidan received the Meritorious Service Award, honoring his outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to the Civil Air Patrol’s mission of developing youth in leadership, aerospace education, and emergency services.

The Civil Air Patrol, the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, supports communities through search and rescue operations, STEM education, and leadership programs for cadets. The Delaware Wing plays an essential role in advancing these efforts at both the state and regional levels. Aidan is a dedicated member of the Delaware Air National Guard (DANG) Cadet Squadron, where he has consistently demonstrated excellence and service.

Congratulations to Aidan on this well-deserved recognition!
