Julius “Trey” Williams ’26 Named 2025 River Boys Scholarship Recipient

Salesianum is proud to congratulate Julius “Trey” Williams ’26, the 2025 River Boys Award for Intrepid Salesians Scholarship recipient. Established in 2021 to honor alumni Samuel Castorani, Dennis Gallagher, and Charles Robinson, this scholarship recognizes students who embody the spirit of adventure, courage, and personal growth. The original “River Boys” embarked on an extraordinary cross-country journey in 1957, and this award continues their legacy by empowering students to take on meaningful challenges.

Trey’s winning proposal, “Retracing the Underground Railroad: A Journey of Growth, Understanding, and Leadership,” will explore historic Underground Railroad routes across Maryland, Delaware, several U.S. states, and into Canada. Traveling by foot, boat, and train, Trey will visit safe houses, churches, museums, and Harriet Tubman’s homes—places where freedom seekers once risked everything.

Congratulations, Trey! We look forward to following your journey.
